Today, the Walt Disney World Resort gave us the details of what their new holiday event will look like. Due to the current pandemic, it will look very different than previous years. However, this new reimagining should still be able to keep most of the magic alive while keeping guest safety a top priority. The holiday event will take place from Nov. 6-Dec. 30th. Here are the details of the new event.

There will be new festive decorations, themed merchandise, and food/beverages around the parks. This will even extend into Disney Springs.
It’s not confirmed if the christmas tree walk at Disney Springs will continue again this year but they do promise ‘Christmas around every corner.’ This could mean a shift of the elaborately themed christmas trees from being located in one spot to instead being located throughout Disney Springs. It’s no secret that the Christmas tree walk can be very congested with people, especially when it comes to taking pictures of all the trees. Disney has said that there will be a magical snowfall encounter within Town Center, West Side, and The Landing. Jock Lindsey will once again turn it’s hangar bar into a holiday bar which also includes some limited time festive menu items.
Venturing back to what’s changing at the parks, Santa will make guests appearances at each park! This will probably be a moving character encounter that we’ve seen recently to make sure guests don’t linger too long. At the Animal Kingdom, these character encounters will continue to be by festive flotillas that parade through the river. Epcot will have festive characters continue to walk through it’s promenades that usually go through world showcase. Merry motorcades will be the option of choice for characters at Hollywood Studios to be seen. Guests can expect to see Gingerbread Men, Elves, Reindeer, and more! In the Magic Kingdom there will even be Toy Soldiers that have joined the Main Street Philharmonic and parade through the park with holiday songs.

Now one of the main draws of previous holiday events at Disney Parks has always been their night time shows. Those are currently cancelled but in their place will be a rotating series of designs projected on Cinderella castle. These same designs will hopefully be projected on other buildings in the other 3 parks as well, the tree of life, epcot ball, and the chinese theater at Hollywood Studios.

Guests lucky enough to be staying at a Disney Resort hotel will be greeted with festive decorations! This will include the usual christmas trees as well as the intricately designed gingerbread houses we’ve come to love seeing at all the major hotels.
