Disneyland cancels it’s new hotel in Anaheim but ESPN Zone and Rainforest Cafe to remain closed

Disneyland recently announced that it would be canceling it’s plans for a new upscale hotel at Downtown Disney in Anaheim. This comes on the heels of the city of Anaheim removed its tax exemptions that it had promised to Disney.

The 700 room luxury room hotel would have been an incredible addition to the park.

Disney spokeswoman Lisa Haines went on to say ‘the conditions and agreements that stimulated this investment in Anaheim no longer exist and we must therefore adjust our long-term investment strategy.’

Since the plan has been cancelled, The Earl of Sandwich has since reopened, albeit for a limited time. However, ESPN Zone and the Rainforest Cafe will remain closed.
