Disney World Lifts Their Mask Mandate

Starting February 17th, guests who are fully vaccinated no longer have to wear masks indoors. Guests fully vaccinated have the option of not wearing masks indoors at rides and attractions. However, all guests are still required to wear masks on enclosed Disney transportation. This includes buses, monorails, and the skyliner.

Universal Orlando also recently updated their face mask policy for fully vaccinated guests as well.

This system is an honor system as cast members cannot ask guests if they are fully vaccinated or not. It is the hope that those that are not vaccinated continue to use masks in indoor locations.\

Apart from this rule applying to guests, it now also applies to cast members. Cast members at Disney World have the option of wearing a mask (with exception of enclosed transportation).

Disney and Universal’s mask policies have changed throughout the course of the pandemic, so if you’re planning a trip because of this new change, just remember that these rules may change at any time. Usually they have changed based on a sharp increase in Covid cases or a new strain of Covid.
