Why Francisco Is The Best Disneyland Cat

So as some of you may know Disneyland has Cats. For those that did not, here are some interesting facts about the cats.

Cats have been a part of disneyland almost since it opened its gates in 1955. When ever there is large amounts of food and waste, you usually see a lot of rodents eating the remnants. Thus a feral population of cats has existed for many years at the parks without worry of being sent to an animal shelter.

In fact, the word feral hardly describes them. Frequent visitors to the parks often bring cat treats to feed them. They are also given food and shelter by park employees as well as veterinary care when needed.

All the cats in the park have names, some more official than others.  Some of the cat names are:

Ned
Lucian
Buford
Bernice
Giovanni
Hector
Peter
Jane
Horace
Francisco

This is Francisco.

Of all the cats, he seems to be the friendliest. This is especially true if you shake a bag of treats near his home, Grizzly River Run at California Adventure.  After a few treats he will even stay in the area and allow you to pet him!
