Disney Parks chairman Bob Chapek announced at IAAPA the new ride vehicles for the Guardians of the Galaxy ride coming to Epcot at Disney World. The ride vehicles will feature a new system that allows the vehicle to pivot where Imagineers want guests attention to be. Unlike other spin coasters, this one will control the spin with a state of the art system on board that has its own energy supply.
Chapek went on to later say: “We call it a ‘storytelling coaster, on most coasters, the vehicles point straight ahead throughout the ride, but on this attraction each individual cab will be programmed to direct your eye to the story happening around you.”
The new Guardians of the galaxy ride replaced Ellen’s Energy Adventure.
