Starting on May 1st, 2019, all current smoking area’s will be removed inside Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Downtown Disney, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and all water parks. This is a drastic change from allowing a set smoking area inside the park for those that wanted one. Disney will be adding smoking area’s outside the park where guests can smoke to their lungs content.
Our guess is that too many guests tried to light up in secret outside of these zones and it’s easier to ban it outright. It also makes visiting any Disney parks healthier for guests as second hand smoking has been known to cause death.
